Abstract
New construction ceramics have special properties such as high compressive strength (more than 40 MPa), beauty, environmental friendliness, high durability and recyclability. Of course, despite the numerous advantages, the production of these ceramics is also justified by challenges such as high firing temperature and high energy consumption, which new research has been able to partially find solutions to these challenges. One of these solutions is the use of waste such as recycled glass, coal tailings, ceramic sludge and ceramic tile waste in the production of construction ceramics, which has been able to reduce the consumption of raw materials and energy, as well as significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions. In this article, first, new methods for producing construction ceramics, including extrusion and 3D printing, in-situ forming with localized heat, bacterial controlled colloidal forming, hydroforming, and new methods based on waste recycling will be introduced. It will be determined what advantages the use of waste in ceramic production has and what challenges it faces, and in some cases, ways to overcome these challenges will be introduced.
