While COPE expects all members to adhere to the set of rules related to journal editors (and addresses complaints related to members who do not comply), it is recognized that editors may not be able to implement all voluntary best practice recommendations. However, it is hoped that our suggestions will lead to the identification of journal policies and practices that require review and discussion.
